Was a brilliant talk and learnt a great deal of skills that I can try to adopt to my working life.  Great toolkit to take away too!; Really practical session, lots of things to take away and put into everyday life - not just public talks; Best session of the day!; Clear, concise - a good reminder of how to be a successful public speaker.

Zero to Hero - Public Speaking in an Hour Session attendees

In current role and team, we only have a small pool of people with a personal connection to autism that speak at events so this has given a lot of food for thought that I can share with our team to expand on; We don’t yet have any volunteer speakers, but this has been a brilliant session to get us prepared for expanding this way; Very relevant presentation great presenter good tips; Very thorough and engaging

Volunteer Speaker Training Session Feedback

We really benefitted from it, both ambassadors & staff!!! We loved the informality of it and flexibility of the pace which really suits the nature of Youth Work practice. The activities were well suited to the wide range of ages and experiences in the room and everyone felt included and able to join in. It was pitched just right! The specifics that ambassadors have mentioned have improved since the training were stance, posture, breathing and everyone loved Barack Obama!

Ishbel was an amazing keynote speaker for our event on ‘knowledge mobilisation’ in March 2019. She effortlessly wove together personal insights and stories to help us reflect on how we use and tell stories to help people share knowledge. Her manner, presentation style and wisdom had a profound effect on those who attended the event and she was undoubtedly the highlight of our entire 2 day programme. She worked closely with us to craft her presentation to our needs and was fantastic to work with. Our only concern now is how on earth we will be able to find another keynote speaker for next year who will even come close to Ishbel!

Many thanks to you Ishbel for the support and guidance you've give to our young people.  There is such a marked difference in both their delivery and confidence it's hard to think about what you do as just 'public speaking training'.

Ishbel has an amazing skill at engaging us in a personable inclusive way.  I'm really inspired.  I heard some things today that made so much sense to me and I just want to learn more!

Ishbel is a wonderful public speaking trainer. In September 2018, she delivered a workshop and provided one to one coaching sessions for speakers in preparation for a TED-style talk event in Aberdeen. Her approach was imaginative, engaging and tailored. She empowered our social enterprise leaders to present with passion and confidence. Thanks again, Ishbel, we couldn’t have done it without you!

I did a TEDx Talk and Ishbel helped me to find my words for my presentation making sense of what I wanted the audience to understand. Ishbel took me through the process from beginning to end. Extremely grateful for all the support I received which allowed me to overcome some nerves and prepare.

Your input was perfect: delivered with great humanity, breadth of knowledge, huge experience and much humour.  You pitched it just right (in every way!) and were a great example to the students (and staff) as well as a great teacher.

This was unique, exciting,  thinking outside the box training, and was extremely enjoyable – it took me outside of my comfort zone, and it worked for me.

“Ishbel worked with the Trustees and staff to help us focus on how we speak to others about Team Jak.  I did not expect it to be so emotional and am grateful to how Ishbel structured and facilitated an inspiring, practical and enjoyable session which I know will help everyone speak about what we do.  We really learned that even though we all have different backgrounds and stories, we can all share the same message.”

Comments on our Perfect Pitch training

Ishbel's facilitation was great. Thank you.  There was a good feel, you kept us on task and to time. we produced some really valuable material and written material (which can sometimes be lacking at these kinds of things).  Myself and my colleague Tommy thought it was one of the best we’d participated in.  Thanks again and I would have nothing but enthusiasm for hiring your services again !

Ishbel, you really made me think about how and what I can communicate about our charity. It was a great motivator being part of the session and how through my communication methods we can progress with our aims of the charity.

Working with Ishbel gave me the confidence to deliver a presentation to a much larger audience than I am used to.  The help with content and delivery made me very sure of a newer subject area in front of a challenging audience.

Ishbel is very personable and easy to engage with.  Her feedback is well considered, constructive and delivered thoughtfully.  She has thought through how things can be done to give us help in other related areas as well, such as speaking persuasively

I found the speech training program helpful with Ishbel providing useful feedback both after her visit to my placement church and after the debate session. I have used a number of her suggestions when leading worship which goes to show you can teach an old dog new tricks!

I would definitely recommend this training to others in the third sector.  For charities conveying the key messages are a fundamental part of the job, so presenting in a clear concise way is very important.

Ishbel provided really valuable tips for presentations.  She looked at each of us individually to give us personal advice.  She was also very engaging.
